BLU DAISI®s Goal - provide resources which support FAMILY FUN, COGNITIVE ABILITIES, VERBAL ABILITIES, COMBAT LONELINESS, HELP TO AVOID SOCIAL ISOLATION.

BluDaisi® provides these intuitive high quality picture based resources for Lifestyle and Leisure Activites and Intergenerational Activities.

OUR STORY

BluDaisi® is owned and run by Melanie Felicity Agsten. She has worked as Recreational Activities Officer in Aged Care Facilities, and whilst there, played Picture Domino and Word Puzzle games with residents, with an agenda which supported the social inclusion and  engagement of residents to avoid and counteract social isolation. Everyone had fun and enjoyed socializing, playing and chatting with friends, family and grandfriends. Ms Agsten has a Certificate IV in Community Services (Lifestyle and Leisure) - Castle Hill TAFE2009 and is .Master in Public Health - Sydney University 2015.

OUR APPROACH

BluDaisi sells its products to people in the community and to residents and adults living in medium to high care residential facilities.  Living in such a large facility amongst many people, residents can still feel lonely and excluded. Yet, no-one needs to feel excluded - players' ability to communicate and interact can be encouraged and their  self esteem reinforced. They can grow in empowerment, because playing with these picture based resources can enable feelings of success without the stress or anxiety arising from  self criticism or fear  such as "I cant do it OR I am not good at it,"sentiments which often result in players being or feeling  "locked out".

The Picture Domino Cards - Colour Shapes, Poetry Bingo Cards and Jumbo Alphabet Letters are ideal for having fun with groups of all ages - either family, friends and grandfriends - in a nursing home, or on holidays; after a day out in the sun, on the beach or the ski slope, or at home relaxing together with mum, dad and the kids.
